University of Washington, University of Central Oklahoma and Bates College topped this season’s third USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Division I, II and III Polls, presented by Pocock Racing Shells.
Washington continued to lead the way in the Division I poll, earning all 25 first-place votes this week, with the University of California at Berkeley remaining in second position. Both schools were off this past weekend. The University of Texas continued to hold the No. 3 spot in the poll, after sweeping a double dual race against West Virginia and Old Dominion on Saturday. The Ohio State University and Princeton University tied for fourth in this week’s poll. Washington will take on Texas and No. 10 Michigan in Las Vegas this coming weekend, while Cal will race at the Lake Natoma Invitational.
University of Central Oklahoma topped the Division II poll for the second consecutive week, earning four first-place votes. Following a victory in the varsity eight at the 2018 FIRA Championships, Florida Institute of Technology moved into second position, earning the other first-place vote. Barry University, University of California at San Diego and Western Washington University rounded out the top five. Central Oklahoma will take on Western Washington and Seattle Pacific this coming Saturday in Seattle.
Bates College continued as the unanimous top choice in this week’s Division III poll, earning all 10 first-place votes. Bates’ top two eights won their races against six other schools this past weekend on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. Wesleyan University ranked second, followed by Williams College, Hamilton College, and Ithaca College. Bates and Wesleyan are scheduled to race this weekend in Medford, Mass.
