The University of California earned the No. 1 ranking in this week’s USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. Mercyhurst College and Williams College took the top spots in the Division II and III polls, respectively.
For the second week in a row, California topped the Division I rankings, earning 20 of 25 first-place votes. Yale University received the other five first-place votes to rank second. Michigan State University, Stanford University and University of Michigan rounded out the top five.
Mercyhurst received all five first-place votes to remain atop the Division II poll. Western Washington University ranked second, followed by Dowling College.
Williams College received all 10 first-place votes to top the Division III poll, while Bates College ranked second. Trinity College, Ithaca College and the University of Puget Sound rounded out the top five.
