California and UC-Davis Top Division I and II Women’s Collegiate Coaches Polls; Williams College and Ithaca Share Top Spot in Division III Poll
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After narrowly defeating then No.1-ranked Washington at the San Diego Crew Classic on Sunday, the University of California at Berkeley earned the top spot in this week’s USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. California garnered 15 first-place votes to earn the No. 1 ranking. In the Division II poll, University of California at Davis was the unanimous selection for the second week in a row, receiving all five first-place votes. Williams College and Ithaca College shared the top spot in the NCAA Division III Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. Williams College received five of the 10 first-place votes, while Ithaca received four.
In the Division I rankings, Princeton University took home the remaining six first-place votes to rank third behind Cal and Washington. Stanford University the University of Michigan rounded out the top five. In the Division II poll, UC-Davis was followed by Western Washington University and Florida Tech. In Division III, Colby College, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and Tufts University rounded out the top five. Washington College earned the other first-place vote.
