The CRCA All-America award is designed to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of female rowers and coxswains during the current season.

Nomination Procedures

Member Head coaches for Division II programs may nominate a maximum of 4 student-athletes, and Division III may nominate a maximum of 2 student-athletes from his/her institution for the All-America team. The enclosed nomination forms should be filled out COMPLETELY in order for the nominations to be included.  As part of the nomination procedures, the nominating coach must rank nominees in order from 1 to 4, 1 being the top nominee from the coach’s institution.

Nomination Rules and Requirements

The general requirements for nominating a student-athlete for CRCA post season honors are:

  • The student-athlete must meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution
  • The student-athlete must have participated in at least 75% of all races during the current season (all races before and including May 19, 2019)
  • The student-athlete must have rowed at least 75% of the season’s races in the varsity boat (all races before and including May 19, 2019)
  • The student-athlete must be nominated by her institution
  • The Head Coach of the student-athlete’s institution must be a member in good standing of the CRCA (by May 1st)

Selection Procedures and Criteria

  • DIV II: There will be 8 rowers selected to the CRCA All-America 1st team and 4 rowers selected to the CRCA All-America 2nd Assuming that there are coxswain nominations, 1 coxswain will be selected to the 1st team and 1 coxswain will be selected to the 2nd team.  In the event that no coxswains are nominated, the 9th position will be left vacant.
  • DIV III: There will be 8 rowers selected to the CRCA All-America 1st team and 8 rowers selected to the CRCA All-America 2nd Assuming that there are coxswain nominations, 1 coxswain will be selected to the 1st team and 1 coxswain will be selected to the 2nd team.  In the event that no coxswains are nominated, the 9th position will be left vacant.
  • Criteria that will be used in the selection process will be:
  • Strength of schedule
  • Regular season record
  • End of season regatta results
  • Nomination Rank
  • Coach’s comments
  • 2,000 meter erg score
  • The All-America 1st and 2nd teams will be selected by the Regional Chairpersons during a conference call after nominations have been submitted

Terms for Disqualification

  • Incomplete or missing nomination materials
  • Late Nominations
  • Nominating coach is not a member of the CRCA by May 1, 2018
